Last weekend was a little bit of a lot of my favorite things.

Between all the Fourth of July fun with family and friends, we managed to get a lot done around here.

  • Spent a good chunk of time working with my older son’s show calves. Fair season kicks off in just a couple of weeks, so it’s officially crunch time.

  • Experimented with a few new products for this fall, and I’m getting pretty excited about what’s coming.

  • Baked homemade oatmeal cream pies for a Fourth of July celebration because calories don’t count on holidays.

  • Restocked Heritage Bars for upcoming markets and website orders.

  • Got everything sterilized to make a fresh batch of Daily Duty Hand Cream… only to realize I had enough Olivem 1000 for about two tubes. So instead of making lotion, I made a supply order. Womp womp.

  • Did approximately 700 loads of laundry. (Don’t fact-check me.)

  • Wrapped up my Q2 bookkeeping. Definitely the least glamorous part of owning a business, but crossing it off the list felt pretty darn good.

My only regret is not doubling the batch of oatmeal cream pies.
